… it wasn’t quite that rough out there today, but it was match play!
We had lots of fun today with 3 President’s Cup matches (the 4th was played Monday). The P-Cup “final four” are: Ache, Bartelson, Gonzales & Rudy – Congrats! Next week will determine the final match and in two weeks the two winners play (for 1st & 2nd) and the two losers play (for 3rd).
Today’s regular tournament saw a low gross of 82 from De Ache, and a low net of 67 from Steve Caldwell; Congrats!

The President’s Cup matches for Thursday, May 25, 2023 are:
Mulhardt (13) vs. Gonzales (23)
Rudy (21) vs. Agdeppa (21)
Ache (14) vs. O’Neal (22)
Laufer (21) vs. Bartelson (22)
… well, the above is how I felt after I realized that I made a huge mistake with the President’s Cup scorecards. “No good deed goes unpunished,” as they say. And my apologies to Dale and Gerry as they need to go back and play-off a tie! All the other win/loss results are the same.
And due to a planned make-up match between Laufer and Youker, I won’t be posting the new bracket until next week (probably Wednesday). But if you look at the current bracket, winners from today include: Gonzales, Maulhardt, Bartelson, O’Neal, and Ache.
The good news is that we had a regular tournament today too and the low gross score was a tie between Pat Collins and De Ache with an 82. The low net score was a 67 from Gene Charbonneau; congrats!

Hey Golfers! Today was the 2023 President’s Cup qualifier round. The low net 16 players (see link below) are qualified and will start match play next week on May 18 – Congrats!
2023 PRESIDENT’S CUP QUALIFIERS
In the regular tournament today, the low gross was and 80 from De Ache, and the low net was a tie with a 66 from both De Ache and John O’Neal – Congrats!
First – I’d like to mention that it was a wonderful day for golf today and our small group had the course to ourselves! Then, note: the President’s Cup qualifying round is rescheduled for next week, May 11, 2023. We had 9 players today with 8 in a single-flight low net tournament. The low gross score was an 81 by Pat Collins and the winning low net score was a 64 by Von Williams; congrats!
Golfers – first – a reminder: next week is the qualifying round for the President’s Cup! The lowest 16 NET scores will advance to the first round of MATCH play beginning on May 11! Today, we had the first scramble since January. The winning team with a gross 62, net 50 was Ache, Youker, Carpenter and a blind guy; congrats!
Golfers – first – check you bag – did you lose a 9-iron, one was found, it’s an Adams Golf, Idea Tech, V4, 9-iron, let me know, I can get it tomorrow (4/25), else, next week.

Fun day today on the course. We had a good turnout, and 8 birdies were made from 7 golfers (De had 2). The low gross was Ed Maulhardt with an 83 and the low net was a 60 from Bob Cole – congrats!
