I thought my knees would be the first thing to go, but it was my wife.

It looks like we only had 20 golfers turn out today for the tournament. Hopefully everyone is staying healthy. Its no fun being “red-tagged” and out-of-service. On another note, Jack Fenelon informed me that George Rose shot his age for the second week in a row. Way to go George. I didn’t know you were 61 years old. Maybe he meant his gross score.

The top golfers of today’s tournament were Smokey Yanez (that would be a cool name for a jazz musician) with a gross score of 83. The top net score was shared by George Rose and Dom Dinielli (61). Way to go guys.

Sorry for the delay in getting the scores posted this week. I had a kidney stone attack in the afternoon and was in ER all night. It’s still on-going. If I end up back at the hospital I’m going to take my putter and some balls so I can practice.

The winning team of today’s scramble was the team of Merriman, Jones, Dinielli and Karas. They had a 67 gross score and a 55 net score. Way to go guys.

When I received today’s scores from Jack Fenelon, he wrote, “At the last minute this morning we discovered we left Ron Moon off any team. Phil had him play with my foursome, so we played as a five-some. After the game I added Ron to my group so his handicap was used to calculate our team handicap.” I have a couple of questions regarding this which I’ve sent to Jack for clarification.

Here are a few announcements: The Darrell Downey Tournament is scheduled for March 25th. It’s a fundraiser for scholarships, so if your not busy on that day, sign up and come out and play. The Ojai Valley “away” round is scheduled for Mon March 27th. It won’t actually be a tournament. You just sign up per the previous instructions and show up and play. Our club barbecue is scheduled for April 28th at the Mountain View Golf Course. Our club luncheon is scheduled for May 18th. The location is to be announced.

This week’s top golfer was Jack Fenelon with the best gross score (85). We also had three golfers that tied for the best net score (71). They were: George Rose; Charles McLaughlin and David Soriano. Way to go guys.

Dick Kohnmann emailed a new club roster to me. I had a little trouble opening the file, but I finally got it posted in the members page of our website. Let me know if you have trouble seeing it.

NOTE: I just received the results of the Mountain View Tournament today (Wed) at 11:05am.

Regarding last week’s results, Jack Fenelon sent me a revised version which I’ve already added to last week’s post with an explanation.

The top golfer of Monday’s away tournament was Frank Allision with an 89 gross score. There were too many golfers that tied for the best net score of 71 to list individually. Way to go guys.

RESULTS FOR 03-02-17

Sorry for the delay in getting the results out this week. I got a little busy this morning. The top golfers for this week’s tournament were Patrick Reeves and John Gonzales. Patrick had the best gross score with an 80 and he also tied John for the best net score of 62. Way to go guys.

Jack Fenlon sent me revised versions for the regular results and the skins results because there were a couple of discrepancies in the first versions. He left out the scores for Chuck McLaughlin and Ron Carpenter. This affected the final outcome for the “C” flight. He also gave Phil Youker a skin by mistake. This also changed the skins outcome. I left the old versions as a reference.

The away-tournament (Mountain View) that is scheduled for the 27th of this month has been cancelled because of the possibility of rain. The new date for this away-tournament is Mar 6th.

The winners of today’s scramble was the team (threesome) of Cole, Carpenter and Soriano. They had a gross score of 72 and a net score of 57. Way to go guys.

Here are a few shots of today’s tournament at Saticoy Lakes Golf Course (new name).
This is Tony Merriman (in the cart) with Don Walker at hole #10.
If I had known that there would be tasty water fowl on the course this morning, I would have brought my shotgun. I don’t know what kind of bird this is, but it probably tastes like chicken.
