Saticoy Senior Men's Golf Club

Greeting fellow golfers,

At today’s club luncheon, the Treasurer’s report revealed that our club funds are pretty low.  In past years, when this happens, we’ve temporarily instituted an additional $ 2.00 fee to the $ 3.00 tournament fee.  Looks like we’re going to need to do this again starting Dec 5th.  The fee to play in the tournament will be $ 5.00.  The skins fee will remain the same at $ 2.00.

For those members who pay their membership dues at the end of the year, Von Williams is now accepting payment for the upcoming year.  Make your checks payable to SSMGC.  I believe  you can also pay via credit card directly to SCGA (Southern California Golf Assoc.)

We most likely won’t have a tournament on Thanksgiving Day, but we may play on the Wednesday before.  We’ll keep you posted.

This week’s top golfers were Jim Houk with the best gross score (79) and Von Williams with the best net score (62).  Way to go guys.

Greetings fellow golfers,

Membership dues are due for all the long-time members who regularly pay at the end of each year.  For those newer members who joined the club on a month other than one at the end of the year, your dues aren’t due until that month comes around again.

Don’t forget about our club luncheon at Santino’s Pizza on Thursday Nov. 14th.  It will begin right after our golf tournament.  Santino’s is located on Telegraph Rd. just west of Ventura College and east of N. Ashwood Ave. on the north side of the street.  They have great food.  My favorite is the small salad bar with either the personal-size pizza or half a sub sandwich.

Today’s top golfers were Jim Houk with the best gross score of 81 and Phil Youker and Ron Carpenter who tied for the best net score with a 67.  Way to go guys.

We will be having a club meeting on Nov. 14th, right after golf at Santino’s Pizza.  All members are invited.  For those who don’t know where Santino’s is located, it’s on Telegraph Rd. just east of Ashwood Ave. and west of Ventura College on the Ventura College side of the street.  At the meeting we will be nominating new Board members to replace those who have been holding an office for the past couple of years and are in need of a break.  It’s time for others to step up to the plate.  Also, don’t forget to turn your clock back one hour this Sunday morning.

Today’s top golfer  of  the Stableford tournament was Bobby Sabedra with 51 total points.   Way to go Bobby.

The top left photo shows Rocky Escalante receiving his $ 100.00 check from club President , Earl Clark for winning the gross-score competition.  The top right photo shows Chuck McLaughlin getting his $ 100.00 check for winning the best-net-score division.  The photo on the bottom shows Rich Guzik receiving his $ 50.00 check for winning the Super Seniors division.  Congratulations guys.

The top golfers of today’s tournament were Rocky Escalante with the best gross score of 74 and Thomas Tone with the best net score of 61.  Way to go guys.
