Below is an email that was sent to me by Mike Anderson regarding the 34th Annual Golf Classic to be held at the Saticoy Country Club. It’s to raise money for the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Ventura.

Hello Sports fans,
Jack Fenelon, who compiles the tournament scores and puts together the prize money envelopes notified me of the following: Last week the dollar amounts for the results was off. When he finished doing the envelopes, he had $ 18.00 left over. He checked his calculations and found the error, so he added $ 2.00 to the each envelope. This is why the original amounts were crossed out. This is just FYI-ICYWW (For your information in case you were wondering). Don’t you just love acronyms.
Today’s top-dog golfers were Richard Guzik with an 80 gross score and Chuck McLaughlin with a 62 net score. Is it just my imagination, or does Richard keep winning? Someone needs to break a couple of his clubs to even out the playing field. Anyway, way to go guys.

The top golfer of today’s away tournament at Elkins was Jack Fenelon who had the best gross score with a 91 and the best net score with a 69. Way to go Jack.

Don’t forget about our away tournament this coming Tuesday at Elkins. I hear the burgers there are some of the best and you can eat them in the outdoor eating area that overlooks the 18th green.
Todays scramble winners was the team of Dinielli, Adams, Williams and Rose. They had a gross score of 64 and a net score of 52. Way to go guys.

If you need to get, or renew your Sea Bee Base pass in order to play golf on the base, there is a new form that must be filled out by everyone. Don’t forget that our next away tournament will be at Elkins Ranch Golf Course in Fillmore on Tuesday June 27th. It costs $ 50.00 to play in the tournament and $ 43.00 just to play golf. A cart is also included in the price. It’s a great course, in great shape, and they serve great hamburgers that you can eat in the outdoor dining area which overlooks the 18th green. Here are some of the photos I shot of today’s President’s Cup final. The winner was Gene Charbonneau. He played Jack Fenelon for the championship. Fenelon took the lead early on, but Charbonneau came storming back and was up by 2 after 9 holes. Play was pretty even through most of the back 9 until the 17th hole where Charbonneau was able to close out Fenelon. The battle for 3rd place between Don Mulville and Richard Guzik was a similar close match. Don was up by 4 after 9 holes. On the back, Guzik rallied and came back. He was up 1 by the 16th hole. Going into the 18th hole, it was all tied up. Guzik was able to prevail on the 18th and won the third place position.

Today’s top golfers of the regular tournament were Ron Laufer with the best gross score of 84 and Jim Degraffenreid with the best net score of 63, Way to go guys and President’s Cup champions.
On a more somber note, at today’s tournament we learned that Jeff Hartman passed away recently. I remember playing golf with him. He was a good man and he will be missed.
Our next away tournament will be at the Elkin’s Ranch Golf Course on Tues 6-27-17. The cost is $ 50.00 if you want to be in the tournament and $ 43.00 if you just want to play golf. It looks like Jack Fenelon will be playing Gene Chabonneau next Thursday for the President’s Cup Championship. Richard Guzik will be playing Don Mulville for 3rd place.
