Don’t forget about the away tournament on May 13th at Elkins Ranch. Cost is $ 55.00 payable to Jack Fenelon. Speaking of payments, if you signed up to play and haven’t done so, now would be a good time to write that check and get it to Jack by next Thursday, or sooner if possible.
Today’s top golfers were Jack Fenelon and Rick Karas, both with 85 gross scores. Chris Bartelson had the best net score with a 62. Way to go guys.
This cartoon is brought to you by Earl Clark who emailed it to me a few weeks ago.
On a more serious note, for those who did not play today, it is with a heavy heart that I share this sad news with you. One of our long-time golfers has shuffled off to that great fairway in the sky. Earl Clark made the announcement this morning at the start of the tournament. Jerry Workman, one of our super seniors, passed away a few days ago. He had been experiencing medical issues for quite sometime. I checked the Ven. Co. Star for his obituary, but it’s not there yet. What I remember about Jerry is that he was a military veteran and he liked going to Ventura College football and basketball games. Also, whenever he played golf at Saticoy on Thursdays, there was a tree next to the #5 T-box that he would stop and talk to. He actually had the tree planted there in memory of his wife when she passed away. That’s who he was talking to. I’d like to think that they’re together now and he’s talking to her in person. Rest in peace Jerry .
Today’s top golfers were Van Millan with an 80 gross score and Earnie Baca with a 64 net. Way to go guys. On a side note, did anyone else have trouble with the overgrown grass in the rough areas? I sure did.

SKINS RESULTS FOR APRIL 4, 2019
Greetings fellow golfers,
Its nice to have some decent weather for a change instead of the rain and wind we’ve been having these last few weeks. Hopefully March will go out like a lamb as it’s supposed to.
We will be having an away tournament at Elkins Ranch on May 13th. The cost is $ 55.00 payable to Jack Fenelon in cash or check. The fee includes everything (cart, green fees and I believe a few range balls, but don’t quote me on that). If I remember correctly, they also have some pretty good hamburgers.
Today’s top scramble team was the team of Fenelon, Soriano, Cole and a blind guy. They ended up with a 54 net. Way to go guys.
Regards,
Bob Escobedo
Greetings fellow golfers,
It was quite the windy day today. Golf bags were falling over and hats were blowing off. I think I even saw some chickens flying backwards. But we survived.
The President’s Cup is coming up. The qualifying round will be played on May 2nd with the top 16 net scores advancing to the first round on May 9th.
Today’s top golfers were Thomas Tone and Ron Carpenter who tied for the best gross score with a 90. Ron also had the best net score with a 66. Way to go guys.

Robert Escobedo

Greetings fellow golfers,
I haven’t been out golfing very much since the start of the new year. It’s either because of rain, conflicting appointments, or the cold weather in the morning. I’ve been hibernating like a bear. When you go to the woods in the wintertime, you don’t see bears playing golf.
Last week a had a little trouble creating the usual results-post for the website. The scores didn’t go through and when I tried to make the corrections, they wouldn’t show up. Hopefully it was just a temporary glitch and the evil computer spirits have left the building. A while back a couple of you gave me some interesting and funny golf-related material to include with the results, so I’ll be looking into that for future posts.
The top golfers of today’s tournament were Rick Karas with an 89 gross score and Fred Rudy with a 69 net. Way to go guys.

Bob Escobedo
The site seems to be acting up. I posted the results yesterday, but I’m being told they didn’t go through. This is my third attempt in posting them again.

The top golfers of today’s tournament were Rick Karas with an 81 gross score and Fred Rudy with a 65 net. Way to go guys.
When Jack Fenelon emailed me the results, he happened to mention that of the 21 players that played today, nobody scored better than a 92 gross score. According to Jack, “The greens ate our lunch”. Translation”: They “cleaned our clocks”, they “schooled us”, “we got spanked”,
Today’s top golfers were Rick Harris with a 92 gross score and Mike O’Brien with a 69 net. Way to go guys.
