It looks like someone shot a 79 during today’s tournament. Congrats go out to Rick Karas, this week’s top gross-score golfer, who has been staying away for the last 18 months. He must have been taking secret PGA golf lessons while on hiatus. It’s good to see you back at Saticoy Rick. The top net scorer was John Gonzales with an 84. Way to go guys.

Today’s top scramble team was the team of Maulhardt, Kehoe, Bartelson (and a blind guy). They ended up with a 52. Way to go guys. This is the first scramble we’ve had in over 18 months.
Gerry Agdeppa accepts his $ 100.00 check from Earl Clark, SSMGC president, for winning the 2021 President’s Cup tournament.
Today’s top golfers were Ron Laufer and Patrick Collins. Both tied for the best gross score with an 85. Ron also had the best net score with a 61. Way to go guys.

Jack Fenelon notified me that beginning next Thursday we will no longer be playing “winter rules” in the fairways. The ball will have to be played as it lies everywhere on the course. The only exception will be the gopher mounds, mud and standing water. If your ball is on a gopher mound, or if your stance is on a gopher mound, you can move your ball to the closest spot away from the mounds, but no closer to the hole.
For our newest members, there is no relief from perimeter fences except the protected fence on the right side of the fairway to hole #4/#13. There is a protective screen in front of the perimeter fence. If the screen interferes with your swing, you can move your ball away from the screen until it no longer interferes.
On the protective screen on the right side of hole #3/#12 by the house, there is no relief. Also, if your ball comes to rest on the other side of the screen, it is considered out-of-bounds.
Regarding Peter Wright’s funeral, services will be held at Saint Paul’s/Emmanuel Church, 117 N. 7th St., Santa Paula, CA on August 7th at 11:30 AM. His wife’s name is Yung Hee. Donations can be made to the church.

Pictured above are the top final-four golfers of today’s President’s Cup final. After 18 holes of play, the results are as follows (L-R): Dom DiNielli, 3rd place; Gene Charbonneau, 2nd place; Gerry Agdeppa, 1st place ($ 100.00 prize winner); and Fred Rudy, 4th place. It was a great tournament and these are the top golfers of our club.
On another note, Peter Wright’s funeral will be held on Aug 7th at Saint Paul’s Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 117 N. 7th St., Santa Paula. His wife’s name is Yung Hee.
Besides winning the President’s Cup, Gerry was also the top golfer of our regular weekly tournament. He scored an 87 (gross) and a 63 (net). Way to go Gerry and the rest of the President’s Cup winners.
