Hello Golfers!  First – the regular tournament results: congratulations to our low gross player Ed Maulhardt with an 82; and a tie for low net between Chris Bartelson and Ron Carpenter each with a 63.

2022 PRESIDENT’S CUP – 1ST ROUND PAIRINGS

Hello Golfers!  Please see below the 1st round pairings for the SSMGC 2022 President’s Cup!  This first round of match play will be held next week, May12, at the regular time (7:30 AM).  Two versions of the document are below (links), one is a PDF and the other an HTM.  This sheet includes the player’s course-handicap, effective May 1, that will be used throughout all rounds of the Cup.  Good Luck!

RESULTS FOR 05-05-22

Hello Golfers! Just a few notes first:
There will NOT be a member luncheon next week as shown on the schedule; we have not found a venue. But – there will be a board meeting after the round.  And – (this is preliminary pending notice from Jack) since we only had 16 members play today – all are qualified for the President’s Cup!  Today’s low gross score (by 9 strokes!) was by Ed Maulhardt with a 78; and today’s low net score was by Bob Cole with a 57! Congratulations!!

RICHARD GUZIK MEMORIAL SERVICE

A memorial service will be held for Richard at the Buenaventura Banquet Center, Buenaventura Golf Course, on May 18th at noon.   Lunch will be served. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be given in Richard’s name to the American Red Cross or to Livingston Memorial Hospice of Ventura County.  Below is a link to Richard’s obituary:

PRESIDENT’S CUP INFO

Hello golfers!  Just an update and reminder regarding the President’s Cup.

Next week (May 5) is the “qualifying” round.  The lowest 16 NET scores from the regular tournament will “qualify” for the President’s Cup.  The Cup is a “match” play elimination that occurs over the following 4 weeks (May 12 through June 2).

During the P-Cup matches, all players must finish each hole to remain qualified for the regular tournament, and to allow us to post your scores to SCGA.

For last year’s results use the “president’s cup” category (at right) or check the archives tool (also at the right) for June 3, 2021.

RESULTS FOR 04-28-22

Hello Golfers!  Notice: Next week (May 5) will be the qualifying round for the 2022 Presidents Cup!

Today’s top scramble team was Collins, Laufer, Edwards and Cole.  They had a gross 64 with a 51 net score.  It’s good to see Bob Edwards back; he was bombing his drives!  Congratulations!

SSMGC is sad to announce the passing of Richard Guzik this past week.  Rich was a longtime member of the club and will be missed.

Today’s low gross score (by 6 strokes!) was by Ed Maulhardt with an 84; and today’s low net score was by Dale Watson with a 65 (watch for that index to drop!).  Congratulations!!

Hello Golfers! Wow – it was 94F at Noon today, and 7 players shot lower than that today (not sure if that’s a thing or not).  Today’s low gross score was by Pat Reeves with an 83; and today’s low net score was by Ron Carpenter with a 60!  Congratulations!!

RESULTS FOR 03-31-22

Hello Golfers! Today was a 4-man team 2-best ball tournament! The winning team was Collins, Bolden, Gonzales and Bartelson with a net 112 (and you’ll have to ask Jack how that’s calculated!). The low gross score today was a tie at 82 from Ed Maulhardt and Pat Collins.  And Laufer and Collins had the only two skins so they picked up some $$. Congratulations!
