“You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them.”— Michael Jordan
We had our monthly Board meeting this afternoon and here are some of the items that were discussed: Our Club Championship is going to be held on Sept 8th and 15th. The first place gross winner and the first place net winner will each receive a prize of $ 100.00. The Super-Senior winner will receive a prize of $ 50.00. As you know, all Super-Seniors are also eligible to win the best-net prize, but not both. Another item that was discussed is the status of our Club funds. We’re running a bit low. For this reason we need to charge an extra $ 2.00 as an entry fee to play in the Club Championship. The next item discussed was the upcoming Club barbeque. It’s tentatively scheduled for Sept 30th at Mountain View. We’re still working on securing the date and location, so I’ll let you know if there are any changes. We received a pretty good price the last time, but they’re going to have to charge us a bit more this time because they inadvertently undercharged us. The amount we will each have to pay to attend is $ 15.00. The nice thing about having the BBQ at Mountain View is that they will handle all the food prep, the venue prep, and the clean up. But I’m hesitant to reveal that I will be playing music again because I don’t want to scare anyone off. At our meeting we also discussed our dues for the coming new golf year. The SCGA has raised our fees by $ 3.00, so our new membership dues price will now be rounded off to $ 60.00 instead of $ 55.00. We also discussed recruitment of new players. If any of you know of someone who might want to join our club, hit em up.
The top golfers of today’s tournament were Steve Baker with the best gross score of 82 and David “sandbagger” Escamilla with the best net score of 60. Way to go guys. David, I’m just messin wit chu, ha ha.
