President’s Cup winners: (Clockwise from top) Jack Fenelon presents a $ 50.00 check to Gene Charbonneau, a $ 30.00 check to Dom DiNielli, and a $ 20.00 check to Fred Rudy. First place winner Gerry Agdeppa took the day off and didn’t play today.
Greetings fellow golfers,
Jack Fenelon notified me that beginning next Thursday we will no longer be playing “winter rules” in the fairways. The ball will have to be played as it lies everywhere on the course. The only exception will be the gopher mounds, mud and standing water. If your ball is on a gopher mound, or if your stance is on a gopher mound, you can move your ball to the closest spot away from the mounds, but no closer to the hole.
For our newest members, there is no relief from perimeter fences except the protected fence on the right side of the fairway to hole #4/#13. There is a protective screen in front of the perimeter fence. If the screen interferes with your swing, you can move your ball away from the screen until it no longer interferes.
On the protective screen on the right side of hole #3/#12 by the house, there is no relief. Also, if your ball comes to rest on the other side of the screen, it is considered out-of-bounds.
Regarding Peter Wright’s funeral, services will be held at Saint Paul’s/Emmanuel Church, 117 N. 7th St., Santa Paula, CA on August 7th at 11:30 AM. His wife’s name is Yung Hee. Donations can be made to the church.
Today’s top golfers were Jack Fenelon with an 86 gross score and Ron Carpenter with a 63 net. Way to go guys.
Regards,
Robert Escobedo
