“The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital.” — Joe Paterno
Another Club Championship is complete. We took our place on the course, did the best that we could and now those golfers that prevailed as the winners of the tournament played over the last two Thursdays, have been declared. Congratulations go out to our top golfers. Richard Guzik is our new Club Champion in the Top-Gross-Score division, Jerry Workman took first place in the Super-Senior division and John Gonzales earned the first place prize in the Low-Net division. Way to go guys. An honorable mention goes out to Robert Charbonneau who had the best net score for today’s tournament with a 64.

$ 100.00). Top right: Jerry Workman (smiling because he also won $ 100.00). Bottom left: File photo of John Gonzales playing at Mountain View (happy because he won $ 50.00). On a side note, I wasn’t aware that our new Club Champion, Richard Guzik, had won this event 7 times previously (2002, 03, 05, 07, 08, 09 and 2012). Way to go Richard.
For those of you who weren’t at today’s golf tournament, Joe Henry announced that the Fall club barbecue slated for this Friday, has been cancelled due to a low turn out. We only had approximately 25 members sign up. In order to mitigate our expenses we need to have closer to 60. Maybe next time.
