Greetings fellow golfers,
Jack Fenelon just notified me that beginning next Thursday (03-11-21) we will no longer be playing “winter rules.” Lift, clean and place will no longer be allowed on the fairways. You will have to “play it as it lies.” But…because the course is in such bad shape, there will be a couple of exceptions. Jack advised that we will be playing by the following rules:
- If your ball comes to rest on a barren dirt spot, you can drop onto the nearest grass area, no closer to the hole, without a penalty.
- The same applies if your ball comes to rest on loose dirt from gopher holes, or if your stance is on gopher holes and this interferes with your swing.
Jack also writes, “This morning, my first group finished at 10 am; the last group finished at 11:40 am. Gentlemen, you need to be sure you are keeping up with the group in front of you. I know that Zach, from the main office, many times inserts golfers in between our groups, but if you stay close to the group in front of you, these inserts should be kept to a minimum.”
Attention Board members, my calendar shows we have a meeting next Thursday after golf.
Today’s top golfers were Jack Fenelon with an 88 gross score and Bob Cole with a 59 net. Way to go guys.
Regards,
Robert Escobedo
