“In order to succeed, your desire for success must be greater than your fear of failure.” — Unknown golf sage

At the start of today’s tournament, we were advised that if any club member belongs to another club, and paid dues to both clubs in which part of the dues included SCGA fees, then the SCGA (Southern California Golf Association) is offering a partial rebate for the fees paid to the second club. For example, our club membership dues are $ 55.00. Of that amount, $ 33.00 goes to the SCGA. If you belong to another club, SCGA is offering a partial rebate on the additional $ 33.00 they received from you. To get more information and to apply for the rebate go to the website:
http://www.scga.org/membership/multi-member-rebate-program, or you can type: multi-member rebate program-scga.org, into any search engine such as Google or Yahoo. Follow the directions to access the application. Once you fill it out, you can submit it on-line by pressing the “submit” button.

The winners of todays scramble was the team of Richard Guzik, Neil Dawson, Rudy Pena and me (Robert Escobedo) with a 61 gross score. We had a good team in that one of us always came through with the needed shot when the other three came up short (figuratively). Prior to the last hole, we had bagged 6 birdies and one eagle. The eagle was earned by Neil Dawson on hole #7. He used either a hybrid or wood club to hit our second shot from the fairway while standing just east of the corner of the dog-leg. It was about a 175 yard shot that rolled across the green and into the cup. None of us were able to see the ball roll in, but after not being able to find it, Rudy looked in the cup and there it was. Way to go Neil and teammates. If anyone has an unusual golf story from our weekly tournaments, let me know so I can share it with our fellow members.

Regards
Robert Escobedo
