Here are the first round pairings. Tournament pairings will be reset by handicap after the first round. Eight players have a first round bye as indicated on the bracket.

The qualifying round for the President’s Cup was held yesterday, 5/1/2014. The top 8 qualifiers received a bye into the second round. I will post the pairings for the 16 players who will play next week as soon as possible.

MAY 01, 2014 PRESIDENT’S CUP QUALIFIERS

PRESIDENTS CUP

The Qualifying Round for this year’s Presidents Cup will be held on Thursday May 1st. The Final Round will be played on Thursday June 5th. If you plan to compete in this year’s tournament, please make sure you will be able to play the five weeks that the eventual winner will need to play. There will be no make-up opportunities if you can’t make your scheduled match.

The Qualifying Round will be Medal Play Format, with the top thirty-two players qualifying for the tournament. All the rest of the tournament will be Match Play Format. Indexes will be adjusted as normal during tournament play. I will have a sign-up sheet for all the players wanting to participate in the tournament. If we do not get enough players committed to play the five weeks, I will start the tournament with the top 24 players. The top 8 qualifiers will have a bye while the other 16 players will play the first round as a play in round.

The first round pairings will be evenly matched, as they were last year. Your participation and co-operation will be greatly appreciated by me, and the SSMGC. Good luck to all who will be participating in this year’s event!
