RESULTS FOR THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP AND REGULAR TOURNAMENT

Greetings fellow golfers,

The winners of this year’s SSMGC Club Championship are:

Jack Fenelon …….Gross Champion ($ 100.00)

Dom DiNielli………Net Champion ($ 100.00)

George Rose……….Super Seniors ($ 50.00)

2020 Club Championship Round 1 and 2

Last week I didn’t realize there were two sets of results: the Club Championship and the regular results with the skins. The Club Championship results arrived by themselves in one email. The regular results arrived in a separate email which I didn’t notice until the following evening. I’ve since posted them, but many of you may have missed them. If you want to see them, go to last week’s results. I apologize for the mix up.

The winners of today’s regular weekly tournament were Jack Fenelon with the top gross score of 81. Dom DiNielli and David Rios tied for best net score with a 61. Congratulations go out to all of today’s winners.

RESULTS FOR 09-10-20 (1st round of Club Championship) Revised

Greetings fellow golfers,

Round 1 of the annual Saticoy Seniors Men’s Golf Club Championship is done and in the record book. I hope everyone read last week’s notice on the website advising that today was the first round. If you played the usual 18 holes today, then you were automatically entered.

There was one change made to the Super Seniors category. Normally, you have to be 80 years of age, or older, to qualify. Since we only had one golfer that qualified (George Rose), per Earl Clark, the age requirement was changed to 78 and above.

Tied for first place in the gross category are Gerry Agdeppa and Jack Fenelon with an 87. Tied for first place in the net category are Jack Bonifield and Dom DiNielli with a 63. The first place golfer in the Super Senior category is George Rose with a 96. Way to go guys.

The second round will be played next Thursday. Good luck everyone.

Just a reminder that the Club Championship tournament begins next week and concludes the following week.

Today’s top gross-score winner was John O’Neal with a 65. Dom DiNielli and I tied for the best net score with a 65.

Greetings fellow golfers,

I was just informed that the club championship will be played over two consecutive weeks, Sept. 10th and the 17th. Qualifying is not required. We will have three categories:

1. Club Champion Gross Score.

2. Club Champion Net Score.

3. Club Champion Super Senior.

Just a reminder, the pot bunker on the right side of hole #3/#12 is considered ground under repair. If your ball goes into this bunker, you get a free drop out of it, no closer to the hole.

This week’s top golfer was Ed Maulhardt. He had the best gross score with a 78 and the best net score with a 63. Way to go Ed.

Here is a message from Jack Fenelon:

New tournament rule. The pot bunker on the front right of hole #3/#12 (par-5) will be considered ground-under-repair starting next week. If you hit into it, you’ll get a free drop out of it, no closer to the hole, with no penalty. — Jack

Today’s top golfers were Rocky Escalante with the best gross score of 81, and Roosevelt Bolden with the best net score of 61. Way to go guys.

Greetings fellow golfers,

We had 20 golfers at this morning’s tournament. Looks like our numbers are coming back. I hope everyone is staying healthy.

On another note, in 2017, when political issues in the country were very divisive and supercharged with emotion, I received approval from our board to post a request on our website. The request was to ask all of our members to keep our golf tournaments free from political debate as a courtesy to those who have absolutely no interest in being distracted by someone’s opposing political views. With the upcoming presidential election just around the corner, I’d like to add to that request. How about we keep all campaign paraphernalia such as hats and the like out of our tournaments, regardless of whether they promote red or blue candidates?

Today’s top golfers were Ed Maulhardt with an 81 gross score and Bob Edwards with a 63 net. Way to go guys.
