Last night’s weather report called for rain beginning Wednesday afternoon and going non-stop through Friday. For that reason I slept in this morning figuring the tournament would be rained out. I awoke to a clear sunny day. I wish we had goat-weather broadcasts here in Ventura. In some parts of the country, they watch goats on a hill to predict the weather. When the goats go to the top of the hill to graze, it means the weather is going to be fair. When they only go half way up, it means bad weather. When they stay at the bottom, it means a really bad storm is coming. The goats have a better track record than the National Weather Service.
We had a three-way tie for best gross score at today’s tournament. Ron Carpenter, Chris Bartelson and Patrick Reeves all scored an 89. Ron also had the best net score with a 66. Way to go guys.
Next week’s tournament is a scramble. The week after will be a yellow-ball tournament. Also, don’t forget about the Barbecue on April 27th at the Mountain View Golf Course. I won’t be playing music because I’m taking a break.
