Another great Southern California day weather wise. It was unusually warm for this being the 2nd week of February. Not only was it warm, but very windy with the east wind wreaking havoc on all of our long shots made into the wind. Congratulations to our two top golfers of the week. Ron Laufer had the best gross score with an 80. Peter Wright had the best net score with a 58. The monthly SSMGC board meeting was held today and the subject of maximum-handicap-index, as it relates to skin money, came up. It was decided (voted on) that the maximum HC index for the purpose of determining a skin-win would be capped at 36. This means that nobody will have a 3-pop advantage (per hole) during a tournament. Higher HC indexes will still be accepted for the purpose of determining net scores. This advisement will be posted again over the next few weeks to make sure it is read by all.
